Q&A

1) Who are the members of your band and how did you meet?
Noah Wittman (music).
Michelle Pape (vocals).
We met on Craigslist.

2) How long have you been in Austin and how long have you played music?
Noah:Been in Austin 10 years and have been paying music since high school.
Michelle: Lived in Austin since 5 years old (if you consider Round Rock Austin). Anatomi is my first band outside of middle school choir but I’ve always had a passion for music and signing.

3) Has the city of Austin had any influence in the style or direction of your music?
Noah:Yes, this is where I met Michelle.
Michelle:I would say it’s events that I’ve been to in Austin the have influenced my music style. Seeing bands is always inspiring to me and SXSW is what actually drove me to want to make music.

4) Do you perform live shows in Austin, and if so, what are your favorite venues?
Yes, our favorite venues are Parish (have not played yet), Mohawk, and Swan Dive (play both regularly).

5) Are there other bands in Austin you’d recommend to your fans?
Oh My Love, SINE, Blushing, DOSSEY

6) What musicians have most influenced you?
Noah: Too many to name. I’ve never listened to much electronic music so I think it makes our music unique in that my influences come from outside the genre.
Michelle: Huge range really. My most influential person in my life is Lady Gaga. But our music style is much more influenced by bands like Daughter, Purity Ring, and 80s synth bands.

7) What’s the best thing that has happened to your band?
Noah: Completing and releasing a record we are really proud of was a huge goal of mine. And getting to go to LA to make music videos was something I’ve always wanted to do.
Michelle: I’ve gotten a lot of cool experiences from the band. My favorite thing we get to do is write, especially with our producer Casey Diorio in Dallas.

8) Any cringe-worthy moments the band has endured that you’re willing to divulge?
Noah: Not yet!
Michelle: Not sure we’ve been playing long enough for anything cringeworthy, thank goodness!

9) Give us one fun fact.
Noah: My dogs have both been named after musical artists – Tupac and Prince.
Michelle: Obsessed with hot dogs, Lady Gaga, and Golden retrievers pretty much all equally.
