No longer simply the “Live Music Capital of the World”, Austin, Texas has become a hotbed for today’s up and coming electronic musicians. Austin has experienced an explosive growth in its population, bringing an influx of multi-talented individuals.
Many of these migrants have also put their capabilities to work in the electronic music scene. Several of these transplants along with some long time Austonians, have successfully bridged the gap between Austin’s new and old by fusing this new style of programmable music into Austin’s traditional eclectic music scene.
While Austin has lost some of its “weird” identity to corporatization, some fantastic musicians are reinventing the scene and helping Austin become a well known exporter of all kinds of electronic music.
